Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation
THE CHALLENGE
Through his own upbringing in Jacksonville, FL, and his experiences as a professional American Football player, Brian Dawkins recognised the power education and positive interventions can make to the lives of young people in disadvantaged communities.
Focusing on three communities close to him – Jacksonville, Philadelphia and Clemson – Brian wanted to enable young people to overcome their circumstances, choose a positive path and in doing so help inspire and uplift their families and wider communities.
THE SOLUTION
thinkBeyond held a workshop with Brian to truly understand his personal story, the values that drive him and the outcomes he wanted to achieve.
This workshop helped us to identify his guiding principles of:
- Education
- Cerebral wellness
- Strong family and community support systems
With these insights we created the narrative, strategy, and delivery plan for the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation. The Foundation was formed to be a bespoke initiative which provides
THE IMPACT
We launched the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation and are now responsible for year-round delivery, including oversight and management of programming, governance, fundraising, communications, monitoring and evaluation.
The foundation’s first initiative, the Brian Dawkins Values Program, is now being implemented through local partnerships to deliver life skills education and resources to young people. As the foundation grows in size, thinkBeyond will continue to support Brian with the expansion of programming to encompass support for single parents, college grants and the creation of schools and community infrastructure.
